By ensuring the quality of still pictures, the TV's video reproduction performance is remarkably improved as video images are made clearer by the 100Hz/120Hz Clear Motion Drive III while the 12-bit DynaPix HD picture engine helps to ensure smoother gradation.

The new DynaPix HD Picture Engine has been further refined to guarantee the reproduction of accurate and natural colours. The Real Bit Driver offers 12-bit (x RGB=36bit) processing performance, enabling up-converting of 8-bit HD broadcasting and DVD signals to 12-bit Deep Colour signals, ensuring smoother gradation regardless of the quality of the original source signal.

To compensate for colour bleed and colour drift that can be caused by gaps in the source colour format and the LCD's colour space, the Chromaticity Point Conversion Circuit in the engine matches colours so that they come out deeper, more natural, and accurate to the original source.

Intelligent Clear NR

Intelligent Clear NR realizes effective noise reduction without motion blur. It detects picture noise of each 16 frequency areas in real-time and adjusts the amount of noise reduction as needed without adverse affect on the original picture.

3D NR processing is available even for motion pictures.

Intelligent Colour Management

Newly developed algorithm emulates the way people naturally raise visual sensitivity for those colours in an object that catches their attention. Intelligent colour Management analyzes the colour distribution in each frame of the input signal in real time to perform high-level processing for those areas that catch the attention. This creates images with more realistic colours and textures, adding a more dimensional feel.

100Hz/120Hz Clear Motion Drive III*

The 100Hz/120Hz* Clear Motion Drive III in the engine reduces blurring on LCD TVs, helping to make images with rapid movement clearer and smoother via a high-precision interpolation algorithm. What's more, a 3D real time, motion-estimated Hadamard noise reduction system of the Intelligent Clear NR is applied to further eliminate noise while suppressing blurriness. Picture signal frequencies are also divided into 16 sections to achieve effective noise reduction per section to create images without noise while maintaining the realism and sharpness of the original picture.

Displaying colours in their original set of tones

To achieve preferred colours of the connected sources individually, the LT-42WX70 features 52 on-screen image-quality adjustment properties, just as much as high-end front projectors would offer, that allow the fine-tuning of colours, tint, gamma, and more ― all of which can be memorized per source for future recall. For example, individual Colour Management Settings of tints and colours such as red, yellow, green, and cyan as well as skin tone tint can be adjusted on-screen using the supplied remote controller.

Picture Presets to Ensure Higher Quality Pictures

The LT-42WX70 can store up to 6 user-preference picture modes. Each mode can be combined with picture presets optimally designed for a specific audio-visual environment, such as watching a film in a dimly lit room. When connecting to a PC, choose the Monitor setting to ensure picture reproduction faithful to the input signal.

Dynamic (for brightly lit room)

Designed for viewing videos (e.g.broadcast programmes and films) in a brightly lit environment to make the picture brighter, with ample contrast. Better pictures are achieved than with a conventional Bright setting. This is also different from the setting devised for in-store use.

Standard (for living room)

Designed for use in a residential living room. Broadcast programmes and videos are beautifully reproduced and easy on the eyes ― highly recommended for everyday use (reduces energy consumption).

Theater (for dimly lit room)

Designed for a home theatre environment, this displays films with optimum contrast, gradations, and colour reproduction in a dimly lit room.

Game (for playing games)

This offers rapid response when playing FPS-type games (resolved approx. 40msec of picture delay at 50Hz interlace signal input), Also, the Smart Picture function makes viewing easy on the eyes, especially good for long hours of gaming.

Monitor (for use as a PC monitor)

This is for connecting with a PC or when the user wants to reproduce an input signal at its native quality. When the PC Monitor Mode (user menu) is activated, PC-format signals can be viewed with 4:4:4 processing.

Photo Pro (for viewing photographs)
